Privacy
The person operating this website is responsible for the website activities described here and for handling requests about your personal data. Contact: [email protected]. See Website information for the published website and contact details.
This notice describes the current calculator, hosting and voluntary email enquiries. No advertising, visitor-event analytics or marketing mailing list is implemented.
Your calculations stay in this page
Food search, ingredient selection, quantities and nutrition calculations run in your browser using downloaded food data. These inputs are not sent to an application server. The meal is temporary page memory, not a saved account or meal history: reloading or leaving the page clears it. The calculator does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Hosting and request information
Cloudflare delivers and protects the public website. Requests necessarily disclose technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, request time and browser or device information. Cloudflare processes request and security information to deliver content, operate its network and protect against abuse. This is separate from collecting your food searches or ingredient quantities.
The legal basis for necessary website delivery and security is the operator’s legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure calculator (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). This does not authorise unrelated tracking or marketing.
Browser storage
The application does not save new meals to localStorage or sessionStorage. At startup it attempts to remove two legacy localStorage entries, foodkind-meal-v1 and foodkind-meal-v2, so that older saved selections are not restored. Your browser may cache public files under its normal cache settings. The application does not implement advertising or analytics cookies; hosting security mechanisms may have separate behaviour described by Cloudflare.
If you email us
Email is optional and is not needed to use the calculator. If you write to [email protected], the operator receives your email address, message, any attachments and email metadata to answer your enquiry. Microsoft provides the Hotmail/Outlook.com mailbox and processes email under its service terms and privacy statement. Opening an email link uses your chosen email application; the website does not send a message for you.
The legal basis for handling ordinary enquiries is the operator’s legitimate interest in answering people who choose to make contact (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Processing needed to comply with a specific legal obligation, including applicable data-protection duties, instead relies on that obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). Without a reply address or enough information, a response may not be possible. Please avoid sending health records, identification documents or other sensitive information. The contact address is not a medical advice service.
Recipients and international processing
The relevant recipients are the operator, Cloudflare for website delivery and security, and Microsoft for email, together with their service providers where applicable. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law. These providers operate internationally, so processing may take place outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare’s published customer terms incorporate a Data Processing Addendum for personal data processed on customers’ behalf; its addendum provides standard contractual clauses for relevant restricted transfers. Microsoft’s consumer privacy statement describes international processing, standard contractual clauses and participation in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for covered transfers. These are provider statements, not a promise that all processing stays in Europe or that every transfer uses the same mechanism. The linked documents explain the safeguards; you may also contact the operator for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy, its Data Processing Addendum, and the Microsoft Privacy Statement for provider processing and safeguards.
Retention
Calculator selections last only for the current page session. The retention criterion for enquiry emails is whether they remain necessary to answer or resolve the enquiry, meet an applicable legal obligation, or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Messages no longer needed for those purposes should be deleted. Provider logs, backups, deleted-mail recovery and browser caches have separate retention controls. Deleting a message from the operator’s mailbox does not guarantee immediate removal from Microsoft’s recovery systems or backups. Provider retention depends on the service, applicable settings and legal requirements; browser caching is controlled separately by the browser. No account-specific log or backup deletion period is asserted here.
Your choices and rights
You can contact [email protected] to ask about personal data handled by the operator or request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where the conditions for those rights apply. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing already lawfully carried out; visiting this notice does not itself give consent.
You may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or your competent data protection authority. The operator may need proportionate information to confirm a request, but please do not send identity documents with an initial enquiry.
Changes
This notice must be reviewed before introducing advertising, analytics or other new data processing. Any required choices must be provided before that processing begins.
